camper problem, got any suggestions?

i’m new at this trailer camping thing, the problem i’m having is mind boggling. last year i camped at a site with no running water, i used the water reserve tank and every thing worked fine. i winterized the trailer for the winter. this year i have a water hook up. with the bye pass open and the lines closed to the water heater i get cold water to all water faucets. here’s where the problem starts, i close the bye pass open the two lines at the hot water heater tank, the tank fills, i open the faucets to drain the air so i can light the heater. lines drain in the bathroom, but the kitchen sink lets out some air and then nothing no water comes out of the kitchen sink. i drained the tank set the valves back to bye pass and i get water to all faucets again. i repeated all the steps above and had the same results? it makes no sense to anyone i ask. sure would appreciate input.

Fith Wheel Hot Water Heater Kicks on too much?

Posted by Filed Under Camping Water Heater with 1 Comment

We have a 1999 Wildernes Fith Wheel and we are haveing a problem with the hot water tank in it. Just a month or two ago we took it camping and the water heat was working fine, We have a friend of mines family moving in to our fith wheel and they would like to use the shower. And a warm/hot shower at that, but As of yesterday we went out there (fith wheel is parked in our back yard) we went and turned on the hot water, It kicks on every thing worked fine. Hot water comes out of the fausets. Then after the tank is full and hot enough it turns off, of course. But as we all know after awhile that water in the tank will cool after couple hours or so, Thats when the hot water heater will kick back on it’s self and reheat that water. But like I siad when we went out to the fith wheel we turned it on, it worked fine, it kicked off after the water in the tank was heated, but there seemd to be a problem……. Usally after a couple hours it will kick back on to reheat like I said but in may case the water heater kicks back on and reheats every 10 Minutes or so. That’s not normal, at that rate all my propane will be used up in a matter of hours. So I need help. What could be the cause of this? Is it a unfixable problem that I will have to replace something? If a can fix it my self what do I have to do? If a have to replace something how much will it cost? Thank for your time reading this, you don’t have to answer any of my questions you don’t know the answer to just tell me what you can and what you know
